Jig-A-World first came on the retail scene with Jig-A-Loo, an invisible all-around lubricant and water-repellent with hundreds of practical uses around the home, the garage, the shop, the garden, and many other places. A favourite product in Canada for over half a century in residential, industrial and commercial uses, Jig-A-Loo helps just about anything operate and slide better. It's also an exceptional water-repellent for shoes and garments, as well as a rust and freeze inhibitor that will not drip or stain. Unlike traditional lubricants, Jig-A-Loo contains no oil, grease, wax, petroleum distillates or detergent.

Like a lot of revolutionary products, Jig-A-Loo started with one person with a great idea. Fifty years ago, an enterprising Quebecer who had long been working on finding just the right formula for an all-around lubricant had his “ah-hah!” moment.  In his excitement, he yelled out a familiar French Canadian expression:  “Ti-gi-do!” which means "I've got it!"  The question was, what to call it.  Everyone involved wanted to celebrate the special moment so they came up with a phonetic version of the now-famous phrase. “Jig”, a variation on the first part of the expression that happens to include the notion of what we do when something sticks – we try to jiggle it.  And “Loo”, a reference to the product’s principal purpose as a lubricant. In Canada, the name is well known and the product is recognized for its consistent results and uncommon versatility. In a word, Jig-A-Loo has become a part of consumers’ everyday language. The Jig-A-Loo brand name stands for one simple thing: a great, fun household product. It is the first in a family of practical home improvement products produced by our company that carry similar names such as Jig-A-Patch and so on.

Jig-A-Loo was launched in the 90’s on a larger scale in the Canadian mass retail market. Its unique clean, dry and smooth application quickly captured a substantial portion of the lubricant market by winning over do-it-yourselfers and professionals alike.

Jig-A-Loo is now sold in Canada, the United States and Europe. More and more consumers around the world are adopting this exceptional product since Jig-A-Loo is THE solution in a can for all kinds of life’s little challenges.

The founders of JIG-A-WORLD, backed by a group of private investors, are Mr. David Gilmour, President and CEO, and Mr. Bernard Allaire, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Jig-A-World has also introduced another revolutionary product in 2008. Jig-A-Patch, the world’s first “3-tools-in-1” sprayable spackle in a can, hit the shelves in the first half of 2008.
